- Use automated systems or software to extract data from the Platform

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to us, other users, or third parties.

LawyerLink operates as a referral platform that connects individuals seeking legal assistance with qualified legal practitioners across Australia. Our services include:
- Connecting clients with legal professionals from our partner network
- Facilitating initial contact between clients and legal practitioners
- Providing information about practice areas and legal services
- Supporting communication during the referral process
Not a Law Firm
Important Disclosure: LawyerLink is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, representation, or legal services. We are a referral platform only.
We do not:
- Practice law or provide legal opinions
- Act as your legal representative or advocate
- Create a lawyer-client relationship with you
- Guarantee any specific legal outcomes
- Provide legal advice or recommendations about your legal matter
Solicitor Independence
All legal practitioners in our network are:
- Independent professionals operating their own practices
- Responsible for their own professional conduct and obligations
- Not employees, agents, or representatives of LawyerLink
- Subject to their own professional indemnity insurance requirements
- Regulated by relevant legal professional bodies in their jurisdiction
We do not direct, control, or supervise the professional services provided by legal practitioners. Any legal services you receive are provided directly by the legal practitioner, not by LawyerLink.
No Guarantee of Outcome
We make no representations, warranties, or guarantees regarding:
- The quality of legal services provided by practitioners in our network
- The outcome of any legal matter or proceeding
- The suitability of a particular practitioner for your specific needs
- The availability or responsiveness of legal practitioners
- The accuracy or completeness of information provided by practitioners
2A. Client Consent for Fee Disclosure
By using the Platform and being referred to a legal practitioner, you acknowledge and consent to the following:
Referral Fee Arrangement
You understand and agree that:
- Legal practitioners in our network may pay LawyerLink a referral fee for client introductions
- This referral fee is paid by the legal practitioner, not by you directly
- The referral fee does not affect the legal fees charged to you by the practitioner
- The existence of the referral arrangement does not create any conflict of interest affecting your legal representation
Fee Disclosure
You acknowledge that:
- Legal practitioners will provide you with separate disclosure of their fees and costs in accordance with professional conduct rules
- You are free to negotiate fees directly with the legal practitioner
- The legal practitioner's fee arrangement with LawyerLink does not influence our referral recommendations
- You have the right to seek clarification about any fees or costs from the legal practitioner before engaging their services
Your Rights
You maintain the right to:
- Choose whether to engage the referred legal practitioner
- Seek alternative legal representation at any time
- Request information about the referral arrangement
- Terminate your engagement with the legal practitioner in accordance with their terms
3. User Content and Communication
Content You Provide
When you use our Platform, you may provide information about your legal matter, including sensitive details. You represent and warrant that:
- You have the right to share the information you provide
- The information is accurate and not misleading
- The information does not violate any third-party rights
- The information does not contain illegal or harmful content
License to Use Content
By submitting information through the Platform, you grant LawyerLink a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and share that information for the purposes of:
- Providing our referral services
- Improving our Platform and services
- Complying with legal obligations
No Lawyer-Client Privilege
Important: Communications with LawyerLink are not protected by lawyer-client privilege. Lawyer-client privilege only applies to communications between you and the legal practitioner you engage.
4. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
By using the Platform, you consent to:
- Our collection and use of your personal information as described in the Privacy Policy
- Sharing your information with legal practitioners for referral purposes
- Our use of cookies and tracking technologies to improve the Platform

5. Third-Party Links and Content
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, including websites of legal practitioners in our network. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for:

- Products, services, or materials available through third-party sites
Your use of third-party websites is at your own risk and subject to their terms and conditions.
6. Limitation of Liability
Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Platform and our services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Warranties of accuracy, reliability, or completeness of information
- Warranties that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free
- Warranties regarding the quality of services provided by legal practitioners
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LawyerLink, its directors, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform
- Any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
- Any damages arising from the conduct or services of legal practitioners
- Any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in content on the Platform
- Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
- Any interruption or cessation of the Platform
Maximum Liability
In any event, our total liability to you for all claims arising from your use of the Platform will not exceed the amount you have paid to us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, warranty, term, or condition, right, or remedy implied or imposed by the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified.
7. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LawyerLink, its directors, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to:
- Your use of the Platform or services
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of a third party
- Any content or information you provide through the Platform
- Your negligence or willful misconduct
This indemnification obligation will survive the termination or expiration of these Terms and your use of the Platform.
8. Legal Relationships
No Agency Relationship
No agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship is created between:
- LawyerLink and users of the Platform
- LawyerLink and legal practitioners in our network
- Users and legal practitioners prior to formal engagement
Professional Relationship
Any professional relationship you form with a legal practitioner is separate and independent from your use of the Platform. You are responsible for:
- Reviewing and agreeing to the practitioner's terms of engagement
- Understanding the fee arrangements with the practitioner
- Maintaining direct communication with the practitioner
- Resolving any disputes with the practitioner directly
9. Fees and Payments
Platform Use - Free for Clients
Use of the LawyerLink Platform is currently free for individuals seeking legal assistance. You will not be charged any fees by LawyerLink for using our referral services.
Legal Practitioner Fees
Any legal fees you incur are separate agreements between you and the legal practitioner. These fees are:
- Set by the legal practitioner, not by LawyerLink
- Subject to negotiation between you and the practitioner
- Disclosed to you in accordance with professional conduct rules
- Payable directly to the legal practitioner
Future Changes
We reserve the right to introduce fees for Platform services in the future. We will provide reasonable notice of any such changes and obtain your consent where required by law.
10. Amendments and Termination
Amendments to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time by:
- Posting the updated Terms on the Platform
- Updating the "Last Updated" date
- Providing notice of material changes via email or Platform notification
Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms.
Termination by You
You may stop using the Platform at any time. If you have an account, you may request deletion by contacting us at enquiries@lawyerlink.com.au.
Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform:
- For violation of these Terms
- For fraudulent or illegal activity
- If we cease operating the Platform
- For any other reason with or without notice
Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including warranties, disclaimers, indemnities, and limitations of liability.
11. Governing Law
Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia. The application of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods is expressly excluded.
Jurisdiction
You irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and any courts entitled to hear appeals from those courts for any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform.
Dispute Resolution
Before commencing legal proceedings, the parties agree to:
- Attempt to resolve disputes through good faith negotiations
- Consider alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation
- Provide written notice of the dispute to the other party
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and LawyerLink regarding use of the Platform and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
Waiver
No waiver of any term of these Terms will be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or any other term, and our failure to assert any right or provision under these Terms will not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
