Frequently asked questions — Queensland

What happens after I submit my enquiry?
Most Queensland enquiries are routed to a verified partner firm without delay, including out of hours via our 24/7 AI agent. Urgent matters — Magistrates Court bail applications, domestic-violence order proceedings — are prioritised.
Do you cover regional and Far North Queensland?
Yes. Our network includes Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Toowoomba, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, Gladstone, and Mount Isa. Where no partner firm is yet onboarded in a specific town, we say so during intake and offer the nearest workable option.
What is QCAT and can a partner firm appear?
QCAT is the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal. It hears consumer, tenancy, body-corporate, guardianship, and administrative-review matters. Legal representation is permitted in many QCAT proceedings; some categories (particularly minor civil disputes) require leave. Our intake team identifies the correct QCAT division before routing.
How do MAIC (CTP) claims work in Queensland?
Queensland's CTP scheme is administered by the Motor Accident Insurance Commission. Claims must be lodged within strict statutory time limits, and the insurer must be notified within 9 months of the accident in most cases. We route MAIC enquiries to partner firms whose personal-injury practice specifically handles MAIC claims.
Can I speak with a Queensland lawyer by phone or video?
Yes. Phone and video consultations are standard. In-person meetings are available with partner firms across Brisbane and the major regional centres. We connect you with a firm whose contact preference aligns with yours.
Are the partner firms registered to practise in Queensland?
Every firm in our Queensland network is registered with the Queensland Law Society (or the Bar Association of Queensland where applicable) and holds a current practising certificate. Registration is verified at onboarding.
Do you handle domestic and family violence matters?
Yes. Domestic and family-violence proceedings — both applying for and responding to protection orders — are routed to partner firms whose practice includes regular DV Court work. Urgent matters are prioritised in the queue.
